Lockjaw can refer to any of the following:

  • trismus, a pathological condition in which the mouth is held shut by sustained spasm of the masseter (jaw) muscle, often observed in cases of tetanus

Commonly used to describe the sporadic and involuntary rapid movement of one's jaw bone whilst under the influence of a narcotic substance: "look at the lock jaw on that yoke, out of the bracket"
