Loch Seaforth

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Loch Seaforth (in Scottish Gaelic, Loch Shiphoirt) is sea loch in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It forms the boundary between Lewis and Harris and formerly was the boundary between the traditional counties of Ross and Cromarty and Inverness-shire.

Loch Seaforth was also the name of a MacBrynes ferry which sailed between Stornoway to Mallaig and Kyle of Lochalsh. She ran aground near Tiree in 1973 and was subsequently scrapped.
