The team plays between 20-30 games a year and travels across the Western US many times a year to play other college teams. Some of the usual opponents of LMU Ice Hockey are USC, UCLA, California State - Long Beach, University of Washington, Pepperdine, Gonzaga, Santa Clara and other West Coast colleges. The season starts in September as part of the first semester of the year, and ends in February with the National Tournament.

LMU Hockey enjoys a good fan base from a school with 5,500 undergraduate students. The team is mainly funded by player dues, fundraising and sponsors. The team also receives some funding from LMU.

The inaugural season ended [1] in February 2007 and LMU hockey should have a much better squad in the years to come.

[edit] Coaches

LMU Ice Hockey has a great group of coaches enlisted with the success of the team. Dino Georgopoulos[2], a producer originally from Hampshire, has been with the team for its existance. Coming on board next season will be Sean Goodman, a talent manager, played college hockey at Connetticut College. He will bring his defensive knowledge to help the Lions move up in the ACHA ranks
