  • the Flora London Marathon wearing a 110 lb. deep-sea diving costume, in 2002;
  • setting a world record for the slowest marathon time, again wearing a deep-sea diving suit, at the Edinburgh Marathon with a time of six days, four hours, 30 minutes and 56 seconds;
  • the first underwater marathon, walking a 26 mile stretch of the bottom of Loch Ness, Scotland, in 2003;
  • the Land's End to John o' Groats swim, in 2004, where he "swam" from John o' Groats to Land's End in a water tank on the back of a lorry;

  • Walked to the South Pole, in 2004:
  • Completed the 2006 London Marathon in a suit of armour. [1]

In 2006, the charity fundraiser involved himself in completing the Marathon, which falls on St George's Day, dressed as the knight himself, clad in a suit of armour and pulling a dragon behind him. The suit of armour and the dragon weigh approximately 300 lbs. He crossed the finishing line on 1 May, having completed the course in a time of 8 days and 13 minutes. He and Steve Redgrave raised a total of 1.8 million pounds, breaking the world record for individual charity fundraising. The money will be donated to three charities: Children with Leukaemia, the Steve Redgrave Trust, and the Association of Children's Hospices, breaking the world record for individual charity fundraising. (He dropped out of the London Marathon's "1000 mile challenge" in 2003 halfway through, however.)

Scott has been injured during some of his events. For example, he injured his shoulder during the underwater marathon when he fell off a 15 foot ledge while in the loch. After being awarded an MBE in 2005, Scott joked that the award should stand for "Mad, Bonkers & Eccentric".

Scott recently visited Australia where he travelled 2,700 miles from Perth to Sydney on a penny farthing while dressed as Sherlock Holmes (including deerstalker hat, tweed jacket and fake moustache).

Scott's next fundraiser, to begin in the week starting 8 May 2006, is to drive a Mini with flat tyres from Land's End to John o' Groats.
