Liz Sanbourne

Elizabeth "Liz" Sanbourne¹ is a fictional character on the American soap opera Passions. She has been portrayed by Amelia Marshall since October of 2001.

Liz is the adopted daughter of Mr. Sanbourne and Ruby Lincoln and adopted sister of Eve. Born in 1960, she was sexually abused by her stepfather (who she believed to be her biological father) and greatly despises Eve, who left home to be with Julian Crane, not knowing what was going on. Liz plotted and plotted to pay Eve back by letting everyone know of Eve's past. Finally all of Eve's sordid past came out and disgraced her in the eyes of TC, who at which point divorced Eve and for a time became involved with Liz. Sometime later, Liz and TC were engaged. Liz was later poisoned by Rebecca Hotchkiss Crane and blamed Eve. Not long after this, TC sent Liz packing when he desired to try and get back with Eve. The reconciliation fell through, but TC didn't resume his relationship with Liz who continued to hang around Harmony seeking to further punish Eve.

Through flashbacks, it was revealed that Liz was raped by Alistair Crane when she was fourteen, when she had gone off to Boston in search of her sister Eve, who at the time had abandoned her family to pursue a life of singing, drugs, and alcohol with Julian. It is at this time that Chad Harris-Crane was most likely conceived.

Liz confessed to multiple attempts on the lives of Alistair Crane and his son Julian Crane (including the nearly-forgotten 'Who Shot Julian Crane' story in 2002, in which she was not initially presented as a suspect as her past with the Crane men was left a secret for several years), before leaving Harmony in 2006.
