Liz Penfold is an Australian politician who has been the sitting Liberal member for the electoral district of Flinders since 1993.

Prior to her election in to politics, her education included a Certificate in Real Estate Sales, Politics at Queensland University, and a Classified Teacher. She has also been a member of many economic, marine and arts organisations, and has participated in hospital and health fundraising.

The 2006 election saw Penfold instead face a National Party candidate on the two party preferred vote. It was due to this that the Liberal vote collapsed by 18.3% to a margin of 10.1%.

Penfold has dropped her Opposition portfolios of regional development, small business and consumer affairs, and will not be contesting the next election.[1]
