[edit] Added Hoax Tag
Much of this appears to be a hoax. Most of what is mentioned below seems to be a joke.
- Clearly it is. At this point, it is vandalism since the offending parties (Ishilly and a bunch of anon users) continue to add the disputed content without any discussion or support here. I'm at my wits end, and hopefully an admin can block them from editing. Best regards. Jogurney 01:18, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed content
The recently added sections: The Early Years, The Alfonso Pele Era 2006-, Takeover Bid, Cult Status, Controversy and Trivia are in dispute. Please provide the source of this information so we can come to a consensus on whether it is appropriate for inclusion in this article. Thank you. Jogurney 15:25, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
- As user:Jordevi suggested, I reviewed the Liverpool FC (Montevideo) page on the Official Website of the Uruguayan Football Association (which appears to be very up-to-date) and it indicates that Alfonso Pele is not involved in the club [1]. Please provide any reliable sources you have for the disputed content to show that it is valid. Thank you. Jogurney 23:21, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Ishilly I have myself checked this site, and it is not up to date at all. The profile for the club is one paragraph. It has no mention of managers / players. As Liverpool are not a very well known club, there are not many websites dedicated to the club, and those that are are not up to date.
- A match report for the 11/18/06 game shows Juan Tejera as DT [2]. No mention of any Peles or Pritchards. Are there any sources that support the disputed content? So far, I only see evidence for Mr. Tejera. Jogurney 15:12, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Alfonso Pele is currently being investigated over match fixing allegations. That is why he is omited from any current match report or squad. ishilly 12:27, 1 December 2006
- Sources? I still have yet to see a reliable source for any of this information. Jogurney 14:37, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
It's been a few days now since any of the users who added the Alfosno Pele and related content have responded and none have provided sources. I'm going to remove all of the disputed content for now, and please provide some sources here before adding it again. Best regards. Jogurney 17:53, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
I have family in Montevideo and are in constant contact with them. They keep me updated on all Liveprool news as I am a big fan. Liverpool are a very very very very small club and I cannot find any websites about them. Any that there are, are not up to date. Club managers / players do not get any attention in Montevideo there for no news on them is ever reported. Ishilly 10:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- I can't believe we're still discussing this issue. Anyway, here's another source, and one that may probably be the most trustworthy one I can find at the moment: [4]. That's, I believe, the official Uruguayan football news source, and features information from all official championships (even second division... you can't get much smaller than that). Any information on new players, managers, etc, is reported there, and one might believe information on one such legend as "Alfonso Pele" might be posted as well (and if you consider the supposed allegations for match fixing, in a team that is 7th in the championship... well, it's pretty obvious there should be some piece of news for that). Well, just search for him, and tell me if you find ANY result (I didn't find any). Best regards Jordevi 13:57, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with Jordevi. Ishilly, you can simply do a web search to find any number of websites covering Liverpool (Montevideo) - they are a first division club. I'm afraid that your claims updates from family members is less reliable than the Uruguayan FA's website and other web news outlets. Perhaps your family has a newspaper of other published source for their information? Best regards. Jogurney 17:55, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
I am a big fan of Liverpool and I dont know how many times I have to tell you that none of these sites are upto date. I have asked a family member to post me a newspaper as my family do not have computer/internet access. This will no doubt take a while. Ishilly 12:37, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'll spare you (and your family) the trouble: check [5] for any piece of news you may find. Again, not only it's a national newspaper, but it's based on Montevideo, so any news from "local" teams should be there. Again, your claim that your family may give you the latest news is not reliable at all, and neither is that of your family not having internet access (it's much cheaper and easier to go to an internet cafe than sending a piece of mail nowadays). For the time being, I'll just delete your edits (once more)Jordevi 17:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Walter Pelé?
Given that Pelé's name isn't Pelé I find it a little strange that his relative is called Walter Pelé rather than something do Nascimento. I also can't find any reliable sources that say he exists. In fact I can't find any sources at all, except for this page. Can you provide any links to sources that have heard of him, Ishilly? Equally the fish-head throwing and Roasaria Delacruz - this is likely to have hit the press somewhere. Sources? Perhaps you might consider using your undoubted writing talents on Uncyclopedia rather than here, where certain standards of verifiability apply. Tonywalton | Talk 17:06, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
I acually live next door to the ground and can confirm all that Ishilly is saying is factually correct. The odour of fish heads still haunts me in my sleep
^^^ More evidence to support my truths . Ishilly 15:44, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
- I concur with User:Tonywalton, your writing talents are going to waste here. If you don't mind, please find another article to tamper with. Best regards. Jogurney 16:54, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
