Special Report: Live From the Forest of Death (Japanese: 絶対必見！死の森直前ルポ！木ノ葉の学級新聞だコレ！, - Zettai hikken! Shi no Mori chokusen rupo! Konoha no gakkyū shinbun da kore!) is episode 26 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Chūnin Exam manga arc.

"Outside" of the show, Naruto is so excited about moving to the "Golden Time" at 7:27 that he starts the show half an hour early. Kakashi rushes out to retrieve the tape (of episode 27), while Team 7 and Konohomaru find ways to fill an extra half hour: Naruto and his team are gearing up to enter the Forest of Death when they are stopped by Konohamaru and his new friends, Moegi and Udon. They have apparently been sent by Konoha's village newspaper to interview some Konoha Chunin examinees. They start by interviewing Naruto, who tells them about some of their D-rank missions, as well as his opinions on Sasuke (weak and cocky) and Sakura (secretly has a crush on him, which earns a whack from Sakura). They then move on to Sasuke, who recounts the same thing. He finds Naruto weak and annoying, but can be very strong at times. Sakura confides her crush on Sasuke. The team also talks about others that they've seen, such as Team Baki (Gaara, Temari, and Kankuro), Team Guy (Rock Lee, Neji, and Tenten), and others. Finally, the group leaves, with the makings of a good story.

- This episode was the first "filler" episode of Naruto, meaning it was meant to distract from the story talked about in the manga. It was also the first episode of Naruto not included in the manga.
- This is also the first "recap" episode, one that recounts what has happened in the previous episodes (although there was a brief recap before the fight on the bridge in the Land of Waves arc).
- In Japan, this episode was shown before The Chunin Exam Stage 2: The Forest of Death episode in an one hour special to introduce Naruto anime move to TV Tokyo's the Golden Time slot (Japan's equivalent of prime time in the US). This also broke the fourth wall by having the characters directly talking to the audience.
- Konohamaru and his friends make many sound effects when chasing naruto in their fake rock. The breaking sound is actually Rodan's roar.
