[edit] Important events

In March of 2005, a user named piy responded to an article on a school shooting, with comments on shooting up his own school. Many users responded to this by informing the authorities, and a week later, LWS was featured in a local newspaper. The great amount of controversy that surrounded this brought in several members, a lot from the local area. Many concerned parents came on to share their mixed feelings of gratitude and hate, while many students came on to talk about it.

[edit] Subject Matter

It would not be unrealistic to say that almost every topic possible to discuss has been discussed on LWS. On the home page is a list of frequent search tags/popular topics. Though many are harmless, certain ones such as 'buttsex' (quoted from the home page on January 11 2007) may indicate that younger individuals should not be using the site.

There are however safe gaurds on the site, no one under the age of 13 is allowed to join and the forums that deal in detail with sex are strictly over 18.

If one is found to be lying about ones age one is instantly perma banned.

[edit] Overall

LivingWithStyle is a community which allows for discussion of nearly anything, with a very high chance of many intelligent responses. However, many people lurk the forums seeking to take threads off-topic and to insult or demean other members. Go onto the site with this knowledge and the preparation to laugh it off, and you should encounter no problems. The best way to experience LWS is to go there for yourself...the community is too large to summarize.
