Liverpool Road Station is a former railway station in Manchester, England. The building is a grade 1 listed building and the oldest surviving passenger railway station in the world[1].

The station opened on 15 September 1830 as the original Manchester terminus of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway. However, the station only served as a passenger station for 14years, closing in 1844 when the line was extended to Hunt's Bank station (now known as Manchester Victoria station)[2].

After that the station served as a goods station until 1975 when it was closed. Today the station building is part of Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
