Live EP is the first officially released live recording from the band The Mars Volta. The EP was released in limited quantities in 2003 and is now difficult to find. The first two tracks were recorded live at the XFM Studio in London, 2003. The last two tracks were recorded at the Electric Ballroom in London on July 9, 2003.

[edit] Australian Release (Televators Single)
The Mars Volta repackaged the Live EP and released it as an Australian-only single for "Televators" in January, 2004, coinciding with their tour with the Big Day Out. It featured the recorded version of Televators, and then the same four live tracks.

[edit] Miscellanea
- During "Drunkship of Lanterns", the band works in an early version of a section from the song "Cygnus...Vismund Cygnus" (of the album Frances the Mute (2005)). This section (sometimes jokingly referred to as "the Omar Freakout session") is now referred to by fans as "The Drunkship Jam"
- The art is from the fable of Arachne (also Arachné). It has also been used as the backdrop during the band's live performances.
- Due to its limited release, the EP has become somewhat of a collectors item among Volta fans, sometimes fetching up to $150 on eBay.
- This EP can also be found as a bonus disc included with their album De-Loused in the Comatorium (2003).
