Live-in nurse

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Live-in nurse is a Registered Nurse who is employed to provide care for one patient whilst living in the patient's home. Live-in nurses working through an employment agency may spend a number of days, weeks or months with one client before moving on to another, though long-term patients will usually see only a small number of nurses on a rota system. This type of intensive service is usually privately-funded.

Live-in nursing is often an alternative to short- or long-term nursing home residency and is often the preferred choice of terminally ill patients who would prefer to live out their days at home rather than in a hospice or other institution.
