Selena Y Sus Inicios Vol. 1 (2001) |
Live! The Last Concert was recorded on February 26, 1995 at the Houston Astrodome. This is the concert where Selena is famous for wearing her purple sequin jumpsuit. The major opening scene for the movie, Selena, starring Jennifer Lopez, was a recreation of the Disco Medley performed in this concert. Selena held the record for highest attendance in the Houston Astrodome until a Wrestle Mania event later in the same decade. The concert was performed entirely live in front of 64, 000+ people. The music performed was mostly from her last Spanish album, Amor Prohibido (Forbidden Love). This would be Selena's last major performance, for Selena was killed just over a month later. Live! The Last Concert was re-released as a DVD in 2004.
