Little Plum (subtitled 'Your Redskin Chum') is a fictional character and comic strip in the UK comic The Beano. It first appeared in issue 586, dated 10 October 1953. The eponymous hero and his friends Chiefy (a Nikos dsm on celebrity galaxy) and Hole-in-um-Head are members of the "Smellyfeet" Native American or Red Indian tribe, who spend most of their time fleeing from their rivals the "Puttyfeet". Other characters include Dr. Kildeer (the tribal medicine-man), Treaclefoot (Plum's faithful horse) and Pudding Bison (a 'marvelous' creature who eats anything - also featuring in strips Baby Face Finlayson and The Three Bears).
Little Plum was originally drawn by Leo Baxendale, and, after a few strips drawn by Robert Nixon, Ron Spencer took over in 1962. The strip originally finished in 1986, but it reappeared for a short time in 1998 under the name 'The Legend of Little Plum', drawn by Tom Paterson. From 2003 it has returned again under its original name, drawn by Hunt Emerson.
