Little Green Footballs awards

The blog Little Green Footballs has two annual awards given to individuals or groups who exemplify their respective categories. The nominations are done by commentators on a designated post on Little Green Footballs, where after the winner is chosen by a general poll over two rounds. Cox & Forkum mark the winners by a cartoon.

The Oriana Fallaci Anti-Idiotarian Award is named in honour of the late Italian author and journalist Oriana Fallaci and is given to an individual who in the preceding year has best exemplified the struggle against idiotarians. The award has been given since 2006 and can only be won once.

The Robert Fisk Award for Idiotarian of the Year is named after the British journalist Robert Fisk and is given to an individual who in the previous year has best exemplified the idiotarian. It was named after Robert Fisk in memory of his words after his his close encounter with a mob of Afghans: “If I were them, I'd have beaten me too."[2]

The award has been given since 2002 and can only be won once.
