Little Gaza

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Little Gaza is one of the youngest ethnic enclaves in Orange County, California. It sprouted up with the 1990s arrival of immigrants from the Middle East. The district is centered on South Brookhurst Street between La Palma and Ball Avenues in Anaheim. Business include halal butcher shops, beauty salons, jewelry stores, travel agencies, bakeries, Arab and Persian restaurants, and hookah cafes. There are also numerous Arab Christian churches and a few mosques in the enclave. Note: 3/4 of Palestinians in the U.S. are Christian.

In September 2004 merchants in Little Gaza filed a complaint with the Anaheim Police Dept. complaining about harassment from two of their officers.
