The auksinas was the name of two currencies of Lithuania

The auksinas was the currency of Lithuania in the 17th century. It was a silver coin, sub-divided in 30 grašių, with 3 auksinas = 1 talerio. [1] It was equivalent to the Polish złoty, with the name also meaning "gold", and was replaced by the złoty as the currency of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

The auksinas was the name given to the ostmark in 1919, at a time when notes issued by Germany and 1000 ost markių notes issued by the "Lietuvos Ūkio Bankas" were in circulation. Plans to issue currency denominated in auksinas and skatiku (1⁄100 auksinas) did not come to fruition and the litas was instead introduced in 1922.
