Lithuanian Special Archives place where documents of KGB and Lithuanian SSR Ministry of Interior from period of 1940-1991, that are left in Lithuania after regaining of Independence are kept.

In Special Archives funds are stored about 18 000 linear meters of records.

Special Archives are governed by Lithuanian Archives Departament under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. all the archives in Lithuanian are collected and stored according to Lithuanian Archives law.
