Lithium is a village located in Perry County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 0. An Associated Press article from 2001, however, states that about 50 people in fact reside there, but may have been counted as part of Perry County's rural population.
Lithium had a ZIP Code of 63775, but it has since been declared by the United States Postal Service to be "Not Acceptable - Use Perryville."

It is claimed to be the municipality with the smallest land area.[2]
