The title of the page List of philosophers is no longer topically correct in two ways: the page had become the list of major philosophers (and needed to be renamed to reflect its current content), sandwiched between two see also lists (of lists). And the alphabetical list of philosophers that was there disappeared. Therefore, this page was created, which covers exactly what it says it covers, including links to (new, smaller) alphabetical lists. --Polar Deluge 14:14, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Curious.

The chronological lists are the most detailed/verified and comprehensive. It seems extremely strange to me that they are not given first, after the ABC list. --KSchutte

The multiplicity of lists is also annoying insofar as if a change is necessary it now must be made in at least twice as many places. "Thanks" for doubling the "paperwork" of wikipedia philosophers. --KSchutte
