[edit] Scope

I think the title is ambiguous/misleading. What are we listing here? Are we going to list all the units in Canada, or just the actual regiments? I notice we have Field Engineer squadrons and Artillery batteries, but not Service battalions (which are what Arty, Armd, and Engr regiments convert into when you drop the cavalry terminology). Are we limiting units by size (Bn/Regt), or are we using "regiments" because that takes in the entirety of the "named units", i.e. the RCAC and the RCIC, and that's realy all we want to list? Do I delete the Field Engineer Sqns and Artillery Btys, or do I add the Communications Regiments and Service Battalions, some combination of both, or do I add the entire Canadian ORBAT? --SigPig 06:15, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

IMO, the page should be renamed "List of Units of the Canadian Army", a unit defined as an infantry battalion, armoured regiment, artillery regiment, etc., with independent squadrons/companies/batteries mentioned as necessary. Michael DoroshTalk 14:09, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

Looking at the initial article stub, 'twould seem your opinion is correct. --SigPig 15:26, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Well the, I've gone and done it, and tried to clean up the redirects as best I could. I see a list of units is duplicated at Structure of the Canadian Army, so I moved them from there onto this page.Michael DoroshTalk 16:18, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
