Talk:List of songs about tequila

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Why is "Used To Love Her" by Guns N' Roses on here? The lyrics do not in the slightest way mention Tequila. There are no direct or even indirect references to Tequila. If there is some behind-the-scenes, deeply oblique reference then please cite a source. Lists like this are not useful when contributors interpret and assign their own meaning to a song without providing any external references. Wikipedia is not a collection of your original ideas and interpretations. Content must be based on verifiable sources. I can find no verifiable sources indicating this song has the slightest connection with Tequila. I suggest the rest of this list be scrutinized for similiar subjective interpretations. 66.17.105.226 22:33, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Nothing oblique - it's a pun. "Used to love her, but I had to kill her" : to kill her = tequila, especially the way Axl sings it. Lokicarbis 09:28, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

From the Status Quo page on here

Lancaster had had increasing musical differences with the group, notably during the sessions for the 1983 album Back to Back over two tracks which became hit singles for the group around that time. He had written "Ol' Rag Blues", but was angered when the producers chose to release a version with Rossi singing lead vocal in preference to the one sung by himself, and he objected to "Marguerita Time", which he thought unduly corny and too pop-oriented for them.
