"Drugstore Truck Drivin' Man" was written about a country radio DJ, not about Reagan. When the song was recorded, Reagan was governor of California, and Joan Baez in concert dedicated the song to Reagan, but the song was not written about him. Baez may have been describing the typical Reagan voter as being a bigoted "redneck" from a rural part of the state, but the song is explicitly about a disc jockey who holds prejudiced and closed minded views.
