Talk:List of psychopaths in Dead Rising

Hey, can Paul Carson be considered an "Emo" kid? He seems whiney and pathetic enough.

[edit] Kent's Age?

Just wondering as everyone else has an age, why Kent doesn't even have that small piece of information included in his area. Captain Drake Van Hellsing 23:35, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] jo's hostages

how do you get all of her hostages at once because i only got them once and from that point on ive only been getting one woman.Do you have to be there at a certain time to be able to rescue all of them?Peacemaker456 16:51, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

It depends on how early you arrive, how many survivors you have in your party already (maximum is eight), and if you already got too close to the store but just left without entering for a long period of time. If you can't take all four with you, you can only take one and the other three die. Oubliette 03:14, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

i never a full party because its too hard to keep them alive but tanks for the timing bit.Peacemaker456 18:24, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Not an FAQ

Now i know people will be saying why have you done what you have done?

I will simply say that what has been written in this article is more like FAQ information that is not allowed by wiki standards, now granted to a degree that would mean the whole article has to go but i feel that to reduce size, and edit it other wiki's wanting more of the article removed. So all i am doing is removing the unnessisary information that would be considered in an FAQ--WarDragon 20:25, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

You mean the Achievements list? I was wondering why those were there in the first place. Pairing them up with psychopaths was sort of vague, but not completely bad to list. And... how do you know Brock's age anyway? Oubliette 00:41, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Err... i didn't add Brock age someone else did, I will change it back until someone can source the "51". Also i may merge the location and time of appearance together, into a more managable section--WarDragon 21:17, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Smart idea, with the location thing. And i'm going to remove that "Quickstep" ability from Paul. He just runs as fast as Frank does at max speed, not faster. Larry, on the other hand, sometimes does a Quickstep version of that running tackle move he does for a critical hit, so I should put it there. Oubliette 02:15, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Nice additions and edits, also i am going to change; Brock was "thrown" off the tank, the way Brock actually fell off the tank it was more of a push than a thrown.--WarDragon 11:57, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be more sensible to say that he had fallen? As you never actually see him being thrown, nor pushed off. Cause it seems like he had just lost his ballance instead of being pushed or thrown off as all you see in Brook's cutscene is him just falling into the horde of zombies, nothing to show him being pushed or anything, I mean, he could've simply lost his balance in the end. [edit] Cult members

Couldn't you include the cult members under sean's command?Sure they're not truly psycopaths but they're stil pscopaths none the less.Just put an article about them under sean'sPeacemaker456 09:28, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Maybe there are areas of argument for and against adding them, for example when you defeat them, an on screen message says "psychopath defeated" i think the same is said when you defeat a special ops member. So if we do include the cluts member as a seperate sub-faction of sean we must add the special ops people for the same reason under Brock. There is not much we can say about them but i will most likely think about but i need to hear other opinions on this.--WarDragon 16:28, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Personally, I think we need a picture of a group of the Cultists first. And for the Special Forces, does that mean we include the fact that there are infantry soldiers, scout bots, and the Hella Copter boss? Besides, when you KO a Special Forces member or destroy a Scout Bot, it does not say "Psychopath Defeated", it says "Special Forces Defeated". Oubliette 02:36, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for that clean up between what the on screen message says.
The Cultists picture is easy to get, most video game sites on the web has a picture of them for example gamespot on there Dead Rising page has three http://uk.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/deadrising/screenindex.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=tabs&page=3
For the Special Forces it’s a tricky one to add, as are we going to considered them like a sub-"psychopath" battle or are they a bit more like the zombies, (not being as dangerous as a psychopath, but still can cause a lot of damage). But if we do agree to add them then we can have a sub section off Brock, but just have Special Forces and no subsections off that. Since we can group all the forces; scout bot and the hella copter all as one section, and not really needed much expansion sicne they are all the same group. --WarDragon 12:12, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

K i added both Special Ops and Cultists, please edit at will --WarDragon 16:30, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Connie and Dakota Hudson?

In the introduction scene that you get when you don't press anything at the title screen, there is a mother and a daughter named Connie and Dakota Hudson. Looking at Cliff's famly photo, one of the members looks like Connie. Could Dakota be the granddaughter he was talking about? He never says he SEES her scream, just hears which coul mean she might have been on a cell phone. I mean we can't state it as fact because we can't prove it, but isn't it at least worth mentioning about Connie's resemblence to his daughter (in law?) and same last name? Mavrickindigo 02:14, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Your treading on thin ice about the information. Nowhere in the game or on any media outlet have they said Connie or Dakota have the same last name as Cliff, it was fan speculation that made them to believe they were related. While their resemblance maybe undeniable, Capcom themselves have to officially say "yes they are related" before we can post it.

Also with the phone call, that might not have happened since at the very end Connie is trying to start the car and failing in the last scene we hear a scream and the light on the car don’t come on which tells you that they probably got eaten there and had no time to call Cliff if they were related.

The comment about at least mentioning them, I say maybe but I think it would be more speculation.--WarDragon 12:01, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Should I at least put something like "Connie and Dakota, the mother and daughter seen in the opening movie of the game when a player doesn't press start at the title screen, share the same last name as Cliff. It is never mentioned if they are related, but Connie does bear a resemblance to one of the people in Cliff's photograph." Mavrickindigo 14:06, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Where did you get this idea that they share the same name as Cliff? It is never said in either the survivor note book or capcom.
Also i wouldn't put it up as it would just be taken down by someone else as speculation--WarDragon 15:59, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Someone on the internet says that they have the same last name in the instruction manual, I lost mine, so I couldn't tell.Mavrickindigo 20:37, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Nah, i looked through it and found no mention of Connie or Dakota having "Hudson" as their last name. The only time they are mentioned is near the back in the picture viewer section to show what they look like. The only relation to Cliff in the manuel is that they are on the same line, but that is most likely due to the pictures being in Alphabetical order.--WarDragon 00:03, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Overlinking

Frank's page is linked at least ten times in this article and it seems like overkill to me. Would it be better to remove all links bar one at the top, or leave one per section? 124.182.116.215 14:00, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

"More than 10% of the words are contained in links;" i worked out that that there are 5302 total words in the article, 297 are linked which gives a grand total of 5.6% half of the recommended. If i removed all the dead links 5.2%.

Also yes i know about the bit underneath it so i will look into that now--WarDragon 22:31, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Done--WarDragon 23:02, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
