I changed the writing "Since independence...", since SLFP was actually not existing at the first years of Independence. The main opposition party in the early years of Independece was the LSSP. --Soman 11:50, 19 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Two questions:

  • Could somebody provide the romanization of the Sinhala ressp. Tamil names of the parties?
  • Art the Desha Vimukthi Janatha Pakshaya and the National Liberation People's Party (Desha Vimukhti Janatha Party) the same parties?
