I would like to bring to your attention that Dr. CNR Rao (whose name was listed under "science" category was born in Bangalore. He cannot be considered as a person from Andhra Pradesh irrespective of his ancestory. He was educated in Mysore. The "C" in his initials stands for chintamani in Kolar district, Karnataka. I have taken the liberty to remove his name from the "list of people from Andhra Pradesh".

[edit] NPOV, honorifics, copyedit, advertorial

Contributors to this page, please note the following Wikipedia policies:

1. Wikipedia has a neutral point of view (NPOV). Please don't write things like "famous composer" or "talented composer". Just "composer" will do. The reader can make his or her own mind up as to whether or not someone is talented.

2. Wikipedia does not use honorifics or titles, including Mr, Dr, Prof, Sri, Swamiji etc. I have deleted them from this page. Anyone going to the page of, say, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan will soon find out that he had a doctorate.

3. Please try to keep the style consistent on this page: I have removed an awful lot of stray punctuation and misplaced parentheses. Please read Wikipedia's style manual (under "help" on the left) if you are in any doubt about how to format lists.

4. I have removed one name that claimed to offer "miracle cures", on the grounds that this was clearly an advert for an individual. Wikipedia is not a forum for advertising. I believe several more of the names here might have been put here to promote certain individuals' private interests rather than because they are genuinely notable public figures, and would encourage everyone to remove these if they see them.

5. I would like to add my approval to Karuna Kumar's comment above. People should use this page and indeed all of Wikipedia for relevant, unbiased facts, not filmy knowledge, or promoting their careers! -- TinaSparkle 18:18, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Proper word choice

I think that "Sanatan Dharma" under the Religion heading should be changed to "Hinduism". Of course this is because Hinduism in the accepted term in English for the religion, whether in American, British, or even Indian English. Sanatan Dharma is appropriate to mention, but unless there is a specific reason for this word choice, I think "Hinduism" would fit better. Thanks. Mar de Sin Speak up! 21:19, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
