Talk:List of people by name: Sta
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The following entries
- Stanislavski, Konstantin, (1863-1938), Russian acting theorist
- Stanislavsky, Konstantin Sergeyevich, (1868-1938), actor
are linked, courtesy of a redirect, to the same page, which gives the 1863 date. IMO that is persuasive, but not definitive, evidence that 1863 is correct, so i'm eliminating the 1868 date but documenting it here. --Jerzy(t) 00:28, 2004 Mar 25 (UTC)
Kaarlo Juho Ståhlberg should not be alphabetised under Sta. He was Finnish and his native language was either Finnish or Swedish. Both Finnish and Swedish alphabetise å as a separate letter after z. Just because Anglosaxons hate accent marks with a passion doesn't mean people from other countries should do so too. — JIP | Talk 09:40, 2 December 2005 (UTC)
I know almost nothing about him, but I've seen a Canadian political commentator on CBC named Jim Stafford; notably, an appearance on "CounterSpin" in which he argued (ironically) the war in Kosovo was caused by tax cuts and ethnic cleansing was actually an Albanian brain drain.
