[edit] Newly Jammed-together Heading

Since the only hdg under

== Hammo ==

was

=== Hammon ===

those two headings have now been collapsed to a "jammed together" level consisting of

== Hammo ==

and a "virtual-heading level"

"Hammon".

This ekes out another logical level so that

==== People named Hammond ====

can be a physical section.

(Such a section is newly needed because it was formerly jammed into the physical level

==== Hammond ====

until the first surname "Hammonds" appeared, calling for physical section

===== Hammonds =====

which would have been a mismatch of logical levels with the existing physical sections

===== Hammond as complete surname =====

and

===== Hammond as first unit of compound surname =====

since Hammonds is a subdivision of

People named Hammond

as the latter two are.)

If a Hammonasett or Hammont, say, shows up, requiring a "Hammon" level again (to separate them from the "Hammond..." names) then the main-space page of this talk page

(At that point

= Hammo =

will no longer serve to subdivide a page, and will be removed, leaving the normal maximum 5 levels of physical headings.)

Good to see you sorted things out. As you might be able to see on the article history, I was unsure where to put Hammonds. I'm sorry I caused so much trouble by adding him. RedvBlue 17:12, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
