Talk:List of people by name: Hal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A new user made an edit that i have reverted. The changes fall into two major categories:

  1. removing most, but not all, of the commas between names and dates (where the dates are present), and
  2. minor edits for content, such as deleting terms of office that could be confused for DoB/DoD, adding nationality, converting from the (19xx- ) convention to the (b. 19xx) one.

Category 1 are at variance with the rest of the list outside children of List of people by name: Ha, and do poorly, to and do to maybe as much as a few percent of the list, a job that should be done throughly with a text editor if we decide to do it.

Category 2 call attention in, i think, every case, real deficiencies, without necessarily taking the right action on them; i reverted them as well, especially since they are mixed with the comma deletions. IMO, the diff listing referenced above should be used as a guide to entries deserving attention.

I spoke hastily, having missed the fact that the unchanged commas were where paren and dates were absent; the strike-thru and bold above correct that. --Jerzy(t) 22:27, 2004 Apr 7 (UTC)
