Talk:List of people by name: Cart
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I have reverted a series of diligent but unsuitable edits to the corresponding main-namespace page.
The middle- and given-name-Carter info is probably inherantly non-encyclopedic, and no more is needed than to note that it can be retrieved
- piecemeal as Wiki markup from a difference-between-non-successive revisions display,
- as HTML or plain text from the last of revision before my reversion, or
- as a solid or nearly solid block of Wiki markup by editing that last revision.
I will place the surname-Carter info on a sub-page of this page, from which it can be viewed, selected from where non-redundant, and reformated to the existing LoPbN de-facto style, in addition to other uses per GFDL.
I will indicate here the location at which the fictional-character-Carter info will be available, for use as feasible for the separate list of fictional characters.

The fictional-characters situation is unlike what i recall from probably before the introduction of Categories; IMO there is no reason against (tho also no precedent for) a List of fictional people named Carter, and it can be brought to the attention of those interested in working on fictional characters via placement in the appropriate Cat.

[edit] Weird date for EJ Webb Carter
The entry for
- *Carter, Evelyn John Webb (fl. early 1800s), British soldier
seems, per [1] , to have gotten that date from me, by my (AFAI can see unfounded) inference that he was contemporary with "the" Duke of Wellington, namely Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington. I have replaced that date with
- (fl. c. 2000)
