[edit] Deletion review requested
Everybody, I've requested a deletion review on the following grounds: the decision should be reviewed, as it goes exactly counter the consensus of users on the AfD page, and because the reasons for its reinclusion (article not long enough to warrant a spinoff, and POV argument has subsided) can easily be shown not to hold to close scrutiny. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ramdrake (talk • contribs).
The DRV has concluded, and has overturned the original closure. Xoloz 15:46, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Linda McCartney
I'd like to know what reasoning might have brought about the removal of Linda McCartney from the list. Also, see the Linda McCartney Memorial Award instituated in her honor after her death, which is certainly notable. (Gosh, what's with the comment of her now only supporting 6 feets of dirt, was that supposed to be a joke of some sort?) Jean-Philippe 06:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Linda is dead, she is no longer capable of supporting PETA, if you must mention her memorial award do it on her article or the Peta article. Dead people do not belong on this list. L0b0t 15

- I think we should include both past and present supporter in this list. This is Wikipedia, and people don't stop being notable simply because they pass on. Neither do their feats and accomplishments. Jean-Philippe 16:12, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. Being dead doesn't make someone suddenly non-notable. There is no reason this list can't contain "past and present" supporters, dead and alive. I'll fix the intro of the article to make this wider distinction clearer. wikipediatrix 16:35, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Improve this list
If you are going to have a list, you should beef it up. Have a table with a column for the way they support PeTA. Was it being in an ad? Was it a general statement in the news. As I recall, Betty White has publicly said that she would rather support the ASPCA and the Humane Society rather than PETA, so this should be noted as well. Have a date column for when the supporter did their support, and any controversies. Make the list decent. It would never fly as a Featured List. Bytebear 22:06, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
And why is it alphabetized by first name? Bytebear 22:08, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] opponents?
Are there enough celebrity opponents to justify starting a "notable opponents of PETA" page?; if there are, then such a page would be good-not every famous person supports "animal rights".63.152.13.57 02:07, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
