[edit] Note from the creator

Alright yall, this is my first page so it probably aint very good... if you can improve it PLEASE DO!!! I need all the help I can get! I just wanted to get this page created because the Category:Texas hurricanes thingy didn't quite cut it. Enjoy and please HELP MAKE THIS BETTER! If u think one of the little italicised phrases below the category of the storm sucks, think of a better one. Cyclone1 03:13, 11 March 2006 (UTC) (Wow, I used to speak like a redneck. Lol. →Cyclone1 01:01, 26 October 2006 (UTC))

Note the {{tone}} note at the top. Take a look to the changes I made to the florida lists. I suggest making the same type of changes here. — jdorje (talk) 06:48, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Ok, sure, you mean putting the main article thing right under the title? Cyclone1 02:54, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Among other things. See the discussion on the Florida page. — jdorje (talk) 03:00, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
I removed most of the commentary per the tag, letting the facts speak for themselves, and eliminating a number of typos. Thegreatdr 02:00, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanx Thegreatdr. →Cyclone1 14:20, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] References

I just read on the main Wikipedia pages that we are not supposed to merely reference other related wikipedia articles as references. This would clearly present a problem to this page. What reference format would you prefer, refs or direct links? It appears that many of the tropical cyclone-related pages are going to a ref format, which appears to be preferred in the Wikipedia main page. Thegreatdr 01:27, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

So what does that mean we have to do to the page? →Cyclone1 16:07, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Find the original references for the data in this document. Thegreatdr 17:30, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Ok. →Cyclone1 17:03, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hurricane Rita

The section mentions no information specific to effects and impact to Texas. --Holderca1 16:02, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

Ok I'm on it. →Cyclone1 17:05, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
I removed the line about hurricanes requiring eyewalls. Though most contain an eyewall, it is not a requirement for hurricane status. Was this portion pulled from the TPC report on Rita, or from the active advisories? The end-of-season report should be used over the advisories, because more time went into their preparation than anything issued real-time. Thegreatdr 19:49, 21 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] To-do

To do:

  1. Define what is notable enough for this article
  2. Include those that meet the definition
  3. Inline sourcing
  4. Adjust image sizes. Preferably align right. Use {{clear}} if needed.

That's all I can think of for now. – Chacor 05:21, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I propose it be merged and later dealt with accordingly with List of Texas hurricanes. Hurricanehink (talk) 14:04, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
I created this page and even I agree with Hink. →Cyclone1 21:54, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Should we do that? The extended summaries can replace the shorter summaries in the List of Texas hurricanes page. As for the List of Texas hurricanes page, it can be split by time periods when and if it gets to big. Hurricanehink (talk) 22:21, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I prefer the List of XX Hurricanes series better than this one (no offense Eric). →Cyclone1 19:11, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
