Talk:List of municipalities in New Jersey (by population)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Too many on the list
The list needs to be edited. The list includes various geographic entities that are not municipalities. New Jersey has 566 municipalities (the list is longer).
- You're 100% right. Mixed in to the 566 municipalities are 120+ census-designated places that are each part of some other municipality (or multiple municipalities) that are now effectively being double-counted. I've been working my way through this list combing the CDPs into their parent municipalities (see Woodbridge, Dover Township and Hamilton township in the top of the list for a sample). This is all being done as part of WikiProject new Jersey, which is aiming to fill in the holes and validate all of the data for New Jersey. Check it out. Also remember to "sign" your entries to discussion pages by using four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comment so everyone knows who aded the comment and when. Alansohn 04:31, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
