Talk:List of male superheroes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Not to take the buzz off, but... the definition by which Batman, Robin, and Flash Gordon are classifed as "superheroes" rather than, say, "comic book heroes" is? - Nunh-huh 06:09, 29 Mar 2004 (UTC)
- They all had television shows. Mike H 14:26, Aug 30, 2004 (UTC)
Okay, but what about the likes of Luke Skywalker and Mace Windu? That's stretching the definition way too far, methinks. -Toptomcat 21:20, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- On that note, I'm going to pare this list down to those who more closely fit the definition and popular image of 'superhero.' Anyone who wants to add one of 'em back, be my guest, but put a proposal on the talk page first. -Toptomcat 15:33, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gasp!
Does the Demented Cartoon Movie qualify as a movie, and is it renowned enough? *Wanting to add Super Blah >>*
[edit] Solo
I see "Solo (Marvel)" but it links to the Solo disambiguation page which has no information on such a character. I've nver heard of this character myself. Anyone care to add information or delete the reference? Keppa 18:18, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Okay, come on people, seriously... this page needs to be deleted. Male superheroes??? One can simply look on a list of superheroes, provided elsewhere on Wikipedia... Most are male. Essentially, those who are not listed on the Female Superheroes page are male. Yeah, there are a few robots and hermaphrodites, whatever. But this is so unnecessary. Will we next have a list of "Male U.S. Presidents"? or "male renaissance painters"?
- But there isn't[ a central list of superheroes. It would be reasonable to nominate this page for a merge, but not delete it. -Toptomcat 14:48, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
On another note, Big Red (DC) is on here, and I don't doubt it's got some character by that name, but it links to a disambiguation page which has no information on that character. Please add some info to the disambiguation page. -Toptomcat 14:48, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Mess
This list is a mess. It includes heroes who aren't superheroes. I removed Dick Tracy. It includes characters that don't exist. I removed French Tickler (the link went to the French Tickler sex device). I question whether heroes without either (a) their own article or (b) an outside link confirming their historical existence as fictional heroes should be in here at all.
