I moved this page because (on technically correct terms) "Taiwan" can mean two things:

  • the island of Taiwan (excluding the Pescadores, Quemoy, etc.)
  • the Province of Taiwan (including the Pescadores but excluding Taipei and Kaohsiung Cities)

In both these instances, the island groups of Quemoy and Matsu are excluded, as they are officially part of Fujian province. --Jiang 21:29, 1 Oct 2003 (UTC)

The main purpose of this entry is to list Taiwan as an island under the 'control' of Beijing. This is called a Trojan horse. Wetman

I don't comprehend your statement. Please explain. --Jiang 00:10, 2 Oct 2003 (UTC)
Do you mean the People's Republic of China? This is the Republic of China. --Jiang 00:16, 2 Oct 2003 (UTC)
All of the territories administered by the ROC now are islands. This is a good list. Yes, all of these islands are claimed by the PRC.--Jusjih 15:04, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
A notice that the PRC's claim over the ROC territories is contested and that at present the ROC maintains a completely separate government without PRC interference should be added. I stumbled across this article and the wording of "All of the ROC claimed by the People's Republic of China." is misleading in that it implies that the ROC is already part of PRC.
