Talk:List of fictional guidebooks

Where's this page going? It doesn't seem to have any great informational content right now, and I can't see that there's anything particularly profound connecting the examples listed on the page. --Robert Merkel
A fair question, and one to which I have no answer at the moment. For now, perhaps it's simply an idiosyncratic organizing framework. --RjLesch
Does Twurp's Peerage really qualify? I mean, all it is is the Discworld version of Burke's Peerage. It's not a guidebook, it doesn't provide the characters with any useful information (unless they really need to know how Lady Ramkin is related to Queen Keli, which hasn't happened yet), and there's nothing suggesting it's particularly portable.
And Wormold's Steerage fits even less, IMO. --Daibhid C
The Pokedex in the games is written by the main character as he or she catches the Pokemon, thus this would mean the game version of the Pokedex doesn't apply in this situation Nintenfreak 21:47, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
The Ferengi Rules of Acquisition are just that - not as such a 'guide book.' That would be like saying that the 'Pirate's Code' in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' is a guide book - and that just ain't right. ;) Ck lostsword 22:04, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
