Talk:List of crossings of the Ohio River

[edit] Back channel bridges
I was wondering whether people cared to include bridges over back channels -- that is, bridges that go to an island in the river, but not all the way. There are several of these to Neville Island just below Pittsburgh. Any opinions?

I think "Ohioview" is a mistake. There is an "Ohioville" in Beaver County, but outside of Ohioview Avenue in Ambridge I'm not aware of any other "Ohioview" in Beaver County. Squamate 02:39, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ordering of connections
Since West Virginia holds claim and ownership of the Ohio River along its borders, I suggest that Ohio River bridge crossings between West Virginia and Ohio first list the West Virginia side going to the Ohio side. If this was originally done to keeps things West to East and South to North, then fine. Otherwise, I suggest the change be made. Thanks. Mphamilton 20:43, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- My original intent when listing the cities was to go South to North or West to East. I haven't checked recently to confirm that all crossings are held to this standard. However, I've recently begun to think that a greater consistency could be achieved if the locations were listed with the left bank first, followed by the right bank (left bank is defined from the persepctive of a ship sailing downriver).
