[edit] Page move

Basically, it's good to standardize page names, and there's already a List of countries by population so I think similar pages should follow that format (lists in general already follow such a format). It may generate controversy, so I proposed it instead of being bold. Anyways, let's discuss this page move. —THIS IS MESSEDImage:R with umlaut.pngOCKER (TALK) 11:21, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

It has been a couple of days, and no one has brought anything up with it, so I went through with it anyways. —THIS IS MESSEDImage:R with umlaut.pngOCKER (TALK) 14:05, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Why 1907

Why 1907? I don't see similar pages for other years. Are you planning to create a template so folks can go from year to year easily? - DavidWBrooks 14:43, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Oh, wait, I see: we had an encyclopedia from that year. The template would still be a good idea, though, along the lines of the "yearbox" on 1907. - DavidWBrooks 14:44, 10 June 2006 (UTC)
I think the obvious answer is that 1907 is 100 years ago. Yeah, it will lose something next year (and wasn't as exciting in 2006), but I think it's interesting from a present-centric perspective. Brutannica 23:49, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Article Structure

Since this article is titled "List of countries by population in 1907," shouldn't the list be sorted by population, and not alphabetical order? When I first ran across this article, I assumed it would be structured like the main "List of countries by population" article, but was disappointed to see it divided by region, sorted in alphabetical order. To me, this isn't really a "List of countries by population in 1907," its more of an alphabetical list of countries by region, with 1907 population information. - meateebon 15:03, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Feel free to fix it. —this is messedrocker (talk) 20:16, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I agree - I came here at the same time as "list of countries by population" and it is set up as a nice table. Comparing the two is very difficult. And, I know, I know, I could be bold and do it, and also insert the (rough) percentages. I'm just not totally comfortable with "big wiki" work as opposed to fixing typos and making comments. anyway, that's just my 0.02 human 21:55, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Following up with another thought, I mean, pile of work for someone, it might be nice to have some sort of reference where the world's geographic population distribution is tracked. human 21:55, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
I might be willing to change it so it uses a table. That is, if people care. ;) MahangaTalk to me 04:24, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
  • I'll be working on it on List of countries by population in 1907/table. Anyone is free and encouraged to help out. MahangaTalk 20:33, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NOT by population

If this was a list of countries by population, it would be sorted by population. As it is now, it is a list of countries with population. I am new to this page, and don't want to totally change the whole idea without discussion. Is the data complete enough to change this to a list of countries by population, (like List of countries by population)? I would like to help with converting this, if everyone agrees on it. -- Renesis (talk) 00:21, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

I should have read the rest of the talk page before posting. I see this has been asked before -- does anyone else have any feedback? -- Renesis (talk) 00:22, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Central Provinces

The Central Provinces link in the Africa section links to an article about British colonies in India. Either it shouldn't be part of the Africa section or it's linking to the wrong article. 194.125.53.52 00:52, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] PRC

There was no People's Republic of China in 1907. Can someone please put the correct name and flag? 74.234.38.141 21:04, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
