List of ex-characters
The list is very long and needs to be organised - into families and other to make it easier to browse.
- They're in reverse order of departure, I think that's good enough. --Sweetie Petie 22:24, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Reg Cox in EastEnders was also played by Marc Tufano (as well as the other bloke listed)
(moved from the article)
Just for the Walford records, Marc Tufano played Reg Cox
There has been two Reg Cox's...
The History Of The Reg's
1.1 There was the Reg that was murdered in the first episode of EastEnders by Nick Cotton, and there was the young Reg Cox who Julia Smith brought back to life in the 1989 EastEnders Christmas Special called Walford At War Civvy Street who sold black market stocking and chocolates and went AWOL with the young Ethal, well she was nice in those days.
I was the young Reg Cox everybody says was killed in the first episode, not that I am bothered what people think but I think I want people to think the right thing to think, to use a Bushism.
In summary, there have been two REG COX'S, an old man Reg and a young man Reg, I played the young Reg in the World War II version of EastEnders.
Julia Smith said that Dirty Den was more than likely the love child of Reg and Ethal, well in that warped world of Albert Sq it's hardly surprising with its recent unintelligible continuity and rather odd story lines, which makes me ashamed to have ever been in the bloody thing...the trouble that show has caused to my personal life is worth a million pound in compensation just for therapy...
Don't put your daughters in a soap Mrs Worthington.
One trusts that puts the record straight, not a lot of people know that I was Reg Cox and that there were two Reg Cox's, and I am sure even less are interested.
However it's nice to be part of TV history (if you can class it as history.)
To think that my epitaph might read The Actor Who Played Reg Cox In EastEnders to which passers by will say, ain't that the bloke who died in the first episode, weren't much of a part.
To which I will say from the grave I was the young Reg Cox. To which they will say, oh I think I saw that...you was the one who died in the first episode. No I will say I was the one who played Reg when he was younger, I had a speaking role...I spent six long weeks playing Reg. Yeah that's what I thought, you were the one that never said anything, the one who got murdered in the first episode.
That's how it is you see...people hear what you don't want them to hear and no matter what you say, they never seem to understand there have been two Reg Cox's, a young Reg and an old Reg, me, Marc Tufano, I was the young Reg.
Anyone reading TV History for a degree, take note, that might be a question one day in your exam paper, who played the young Reg Cox? and to qualify that answer just say there were two Reg Cox's, the second one being ... Marc Tufano.

RE: Reg Cox
Just to reply to that, on this list we credit the actors who played the characters in present day. Any other actors who have played the part are listed in that character's biography, for example, Nana Moon has been played by both Hilda Braid and Kate Colgrave Pope (in a flashback episode), but only Braid is credit in our list, but Colgrave Pope's name is mentioned in the Nana Moon article. I will create an article for Reg Cox, though, and mention both actors in it.
- Are we sure that this Marc Trufano played the young Reg Cox? This edit [1] suggests he may just be a vanity vandal! Stephenb (Talk) 12:36, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
There has also been "Marc Tufano" vandalism at Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Gwyneth Paltrow, etc. -- Curps 17:42, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- I have found this though [2], which says that Marc Tufano DID apear in EastEnders. Trampikey 18:07, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
-
- IMDB does not list him as appearing in EastEnders (in fact there is only one obscure credit for an actor with this name [3]). There have been numerous attempts to insert hoax "Marc Tufano" information all over Wikipedia including The Beatles and Francis Ford Coppola and Jack Nicholson and others. Perhaps your source may have fallen victim to the same hoaxer. I would consider IMDB authoritative here. -- Curps 20:41, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Little Mo/Kacey Ainsworth
Kacey has signed a new one year contract to stay at EastEnders [4]. She was going to leave, but was persuaded to stay, and no official announcement of her departure has been made on the Official EastEners Site, as is usually done (Examples: here and here). Therefore I say we should keep her in "Present Cast",unless someone else has SOLID evidence she is DEFINITELY leaving. Thank you Trampikey 14:16, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
She is definately leaving, she said so herself on This Morning not too long ago. She said that she'd signed a new contract for about a year but then decided she wanted to leave and her new contract was terminated. In response to BBC announcements, I check those regularly and pretty sure they didn't bother announcing Hilda Braid's departure either.
- That is because Hilda Braid was fired, she didn't decide to leave. Kacey has been persuaded to stay according to my reliable source, but unless there is an announcement (as there was for Jessie Wallace's departure), then Kacey can be moved to "Soon to Depart". If they announced Jessie Wallace's departure, there is no reason they shouldn't announce Kacey Ainsworth's, as the two have both been in the show for the same amount of time etc. For now we should keep her in present cast as there has been no OFFICIAL announcement, other than an interview on This Morning when she may not have been persuaded yet. If you have any problem with this logical solution, then give good reason why she should be moved to "Soon to Depart", otherwise, please stop moving her as it is a complete waste of time. Trampikey 15:57, 26 December 2005 (UTC)
Hilda Braid being fired instead of quitting has nothing to do with it. Charlotte Avery was also axed but they mentioned that on the BBC site. I appreciate that you want an official announcement, but how much more reliable can you get than Kacey Ainsworth saying "I'm leaving EastEnders". There has been no OFFICIAL announcement, from Kacey or anyone else, denying this, so why shouldn't we believe it?
- What date was this interview? Because it was probably before the source I provided- where is your source? Why should we believe you that she said that on This Morning? If you go to any forum most members would tell you that she isn't leaving. PLEASE STOP editing this article if you have nothing to back up your claim that she said this on This Morning.Trampikey 18:23, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
I believe her appearance on This Morning was late October. What exactly is your source for her staying? The same source that said Chris Parker was coming back for Nana Moon's funeral I suppose? Or perhaps the same one saying Ivan Kaye hadn't left? What is this source? When was it reliable? I've been to plenty of forums, they all say she's leaving. Ask anyone who watches This Morning, they can probably verify what I've said, but who can vouch for you? Why should we believe you over me? Just because you're a registered user I suppose? Besides, you're being hypocritical. I noticed on the Coronation Street equivalent of this page that you put John Savident as leaving even though that isn't confirmed. So what you're saying is that when you want unconfirmed info on Wikipedia we should have it, but heaven forbid an unregistered user to do the same even though I've given my source.
- OK, there's no need to get agressive. Chris Parker was meant to be returning for the funeral (I believe this was reported on This Morning) but eventually didn;t and Ivan Kaye never officially did leave EastEnders, not that those points have anything to do with Kacey Ainsworth. I'm sorry if I made a mistake with John Savident, which I thought was confirmed (again, unrelated), and I can admit that, so I'm not saying that when I want unconfirmed information on Wikipedia we should have it, I made a mistake, but I am certain of this, and I trust my sources (Digital Spy amd my aunt who works at the BBC) that Kacey Ainsworth has been persuaded to stay for at least another year. Oh, and stop whining about not being a registered member, it only takes a few simple steps! And please for the love of God stop editing with false information! Trampikey 00:02, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

- Just add a "Doesn't know if she's coming or going" section and stop moving her about! :) Sweetie Petie 00:57, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
- "Departure unconfirmed" - thanks for the idea Sweetie Petie! Trampikey 09:52, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
So, I was right all along. Yes, your sources are so reliable aren't they Trampikey. How many times have you got it wrong now? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 194.247.244.48 (talk • contribs).
- You can't blame him if he hasn't seen the same source as you - which is what, exactly? I'd like to know, too - Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia of verifiable facts, not what someone heard on a bus etc. :-) Stephenb (Talk) 18:16, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

- Has it been confirmed now? Just because it was true, doesn't mean it was confirmed. I read in the newspaper a few weeks ago that she was leaving but that still didn't mean she actually was. Sweetie Petie 01:15, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Article title
The "characters from" type of title seems to be more standard (compare List of characters from The Simpsons and especially List of characters from Coronation Street). If "cast members" is to be used in the title, it needs to be lowercase and not uppercase (ie, not List of EastEnders Cast Members). But we should probably prefer consistency with "Coronation Street" and other series. In any case, it could be discussed at Wikipedia:Requested moves and here. -- Curps 18:44, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- But the list IS of cast members (with the character they play in brackets), so it is a list of cast members, not characters. The Cocronation Street one is written like "Character played by Actor", therefore it is a list of characters. Trampikey 03:13, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- Having added the appropriate category, the existence of which indicating that it is more of a standard to do it the new way around, I now think the article should be re-written to match its title (i.e. swapping character and cast names). Curps, since you caused the problem by the renaming, are you up for doing this? Stephenb (Talk) 09:45, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Once again, you created a title with unsuitable capitalization ("Cast" instead of "cast"), which is contrary to Wikipedia's title naming standards. Also, you didn't fix any double redirects following your move. Sorry, but the simplest way to deal with these two issues was simply to rename it back. Also, you didn't address the issue of naming consistency with other series like "Coronation Street". Stephenb, I will consider it if I have time, but perhaps others have some opinions? I now have swapped characters and cast member names in the article, as per your suggestion. -- Curps 09:56, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- I assume the "unsuitable capitalization" comment wasn't aimed at me :-) But I think the article is now fine (bar a small change I just made to the intro!). Thanks Curps! Stephenb (Talk) 11:41, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
Rose Stewart
Some anon user has just added this character to the list of those due to join - the only reference I've found to her on the web is this one, which suggests she was going to have something to do with Tina. Since Tina has left - is this entry still valid? It also says that Jonathan Macer was due to join last November... Perhaps we should insist on sources when changing this page? ;-) Stephenb (Talk) 18:13, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- I think our only source for new characters should be http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/news/list_news.shtml -Sweetie Petie 20:42, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
