Talk:List of characters from EastEnders/Archive 2

As a courtesy to a complainant, I have blanked this talk page. I'm not sure what the complaint meant exactly, but I see no harm in blanking this. May the discussions begin anew as needed. :)--Jimbo Wales 20:09, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Rosie and Demi
It was reported in The Sun today that they will be leaving in an massive storyline this year, so I've re-added the "Departure unconfirmed" sub-section before people start fighting over whether they actually are leaving or not :) Sweetie Petie 11:36, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
Vic the Crusher
I believe there was a character played by Peter Corey called Vic "the Crusher" who I can't in the list, but not being an EastEnders viewer, I don't have a clue when he arrived/left. Any help? smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 15:21, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- No character of that name exists according to Walford Web.
-
- I couldn't find a mention either, but according to his website, he played both Vic "The Crusher" and Freddie Spence on Brookside. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 23:04, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- I don't really think there's much point... we don't generally put characters on here who are only know by their first name (unless an article about them would be interesting enough) but I just don't think there's enough info about him..
Remember ?
From Yesterday's Metro newspaper:
"A Scriptwriter who sent an Eastenders producer more than 100 abusive emails was jailed for 5 months yesterday. Marc Tufano, 38 targeted Louise Berridge after she rejected his story idea for the BBC Soap. Tufano who had a small acting part in one episode of the programmed, branded MS Berridge 'Miss Fancy Knickers' in one message and threatend to get her sacked. He also set up an e-mail account in her name.
Tufano admitted Harassment."

Jean Slater and Rebecca Miller
Both Jean Slater and Rebecca Miller are under soon to return however there has been no announcements by the BBC saying they will return, it is just rumours on Chatrooms and forums. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mansoor1989 (talk • contribs) 19:32, 28 March 2006 (UTC).
- I've given up monitoring these sections. They just leave the article too open for vandalism and rumour (I did, once, try adding an external attribution to justify a change, though that seems to have been removed). I'm not sure what's best to be done here, but we ought to find a way to manage changes to this article more effectively. Stephenb (Talk) 08:53, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
- I give up too. Sweetie Petie 12:45, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- I don't :) Trampikey 21:00, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
- I don't either really, well, apart from Jean Slater and Rebecca Miller :) Although Rebecca being a "recurring" character is better than being moved in and out all the time. Perhaps we should do the same for Margaret Wilson...? Sweetie Petie 21:54, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
Rev. Tom Stuart
He hasn't been seen for years. Are we sure he's still a recurring cast member? 80.41.123.17 12:45, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Alex Coombs as Jake Jones
The article currently claims that an actor called Alex Coombs plays a character called Jake Jones. I have been unable to find any verifiable evidence of this at all. Capitalistroadster 11:23, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Don't worry, it's just another rumour doing the rounds that some idiot thought they cold add! Trampikey 13:24, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- My reply to this question has mysteriously vanished :S Sweetie Petie 15:14, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
HOW COULD WE MISS THE MOST IMPORTANT EASTENDERS CHARACTER EVER?????????????
Big Ron! Where is he???? He's totally notable for a minor character and so should have his own article! Make it now please! Sweetie Petie 18:44, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Robert Kazinsky
Source: [1]
He posted it himself, I have a feeling he'll be playing Sean Slater, but that's unconfirmed... Trampikey 20:21, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Dot Branning
I have moved Dot Branning back into Present because she is NOT leaving only taking a short break like other Characters do from time to time e.g Pat Evans who has not been seen for a long time this is because she on an break too. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.106.9.44 (talk • contribs).
Lorna Fitzgerald
Is not playing Abi Branning- this isn't confirmed. Trampikey 21:32, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Now confirmed: [2] Trampikey 08:18, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Children's section
Darren is in the children's section because he is 15. He will be put in the regualr characters section when he turns 16 on 27th January 2007. Squiggle is 16 (not a child) and Stacey is 17. Trampikey 21:17, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- Is 18 not the legal age for adulthood anymore? -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 19:41, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
I think the kids section should be sorted and have theier ages displayed so we no wen to move it. User:MCMXC

- Would you call Stacey and Rubes children? or we could just merge babies and children into the main section... Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 19:54, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

- Are they separated for any particular reason? -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 20:07, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- Nope... Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 21:01, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- In that case, I say merge the list, in the correct order... I'll leave it to someone who knows what that order should be! -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 22:15, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Not sure who appeared first out of Peter and Lucy, but Darren definitely appeared before Keith (remember them all crowding round the removal van and Clint saying "release the Keith!", who was in the back of the van) and Abi appeared before Lauren ("Dad, keys!" [Max throws keys, Lauren gets out of car]) Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 22:36, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Sharon not returning

Aleesha Miller
I have moved to the soon to depart section because Soaplife magazine have implyed that when Rosie and Demi leave Demi takes Aleesha with her.the departure will take place on Friday July 7 2006
Who is Beth?
Can someone provide a reference? AnemoneProjectors (talk) 19:34, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
It's Jake Moon's estate agent girlfriend Trampikey 19:55, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
Ruby Allen
- This report claims that Ruby Allen is leaving. Please do not add her to "Soon to depart" until we have confrimation from the BBC. Thanks Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 08:51, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Which they now have done. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 19:50, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Pauline Fowler
[4] - she's leaving! Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 19:24, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Sharon is returning
Sharon will return, she is just on a break. This was reported ages ago that she is just on a break like the one she had in 2004 to 2005. If Letitia Dean and Nigel Harman were both leaving permanently then they would have both left together. The reason Dennis was killed off was because Letitia wasn't leaving permanently and it would be stupid for them to split up again after everything.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.29.95.63 (talk • contribs).
-
- You already gave the exact same reference to show that she's NOT returning. The last paragraph confirms she is not returning. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 22:58, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Johnny Allen
it's on Digital Spy that Billy Murray will be returning for Ruby's exit in the autumn.
- It must be confirmed by the BBC before we make changes to this article. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 11:23, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Unnecessary changes in the character guide.
I was just checking the latest changes on the episode guide and the person before me made a lot of unnecessary changes like add Liz Turner's actor as Kate Williams and moved Owen Turner back to regular characters (which I fixed) There is also a mess made out of the past characters section, which a few people have seemingly transformed. One person added quotes to certain entries, including certain people like, Nico's family and Gemma Clewes which they wrote "never intended to be a regular character. The next person, got rid of all those entries and changed the heading to Past regular characters. I just wanted to let you guys know, so you would be able to fix it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.52.11.151 (talk • contribs).
- Thanks - when the page settles I'm sure one of us will fix it back again. Stephenb (Talk) 15:43, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

- That's not proof that the character is leaving - and the article is a list of characters. Stephenb (Talk) 18:23, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
- Re-read my reply again. Yes, the character has been recast, but is not leaving. Stephenb (Talk) 18:30, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry, :)I understand that. :) but I didn't know how you change that. on the character list accordingly , being that it's going to happen soon and all. Anyhow I am sorry. It's been a long day.
- There's no need to change the article immediately. When the actor changes, we can change the article. The article reflects the current list of the show's characters (and who they are portrayed by), not the future. Stephenb (Talk) 18:37, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Liz Turner
Is there any confirmation as to if Kate Williams is playing this character as it has not been confirmed by the BBC.
Janet Mitchell or Petal Mitchell?
I have just been reading the episode teasers at the BBC Press office and up to 13,(The friday in that week -37), it still says that Janet has Down's Syndrome. Is it certain that she will eventually be renamed Petal? I believe this came from an article in a newspaper and was not fully confirmed by the BBC. Just checking. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.52.12.111 (talk • contribs).
- Can you provide a link please? -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 22:36, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- I found it myself. Janet may be renamed to Petal, but for now I'm going to move the article. If she is renamed, then it can be moved back. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 23:23, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
I just checked the latest BBC press office spoilers, for three weeks from now and it says "Billy and Honey bring Petal home.", so she is renamed Petal by then
Replication of information
As opposed to duplicating information, and having the list of former characters in both this page and List of characters from EastEnders by year of exit, why not under the header past characters simply put See List of characters from EastEnders by year of exit.
- I like your thinking. I always wondered why we duplicate that information. -- AnemoneProjectors (talk) 17:27, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Dr. May Wright
This is where found the info on May Wright. I know it's Digital Spy, but it has the exact date that she is to first appear and everything, and also some of the other characters from that section were originally taken from Soaplife magazine http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds36607.html
Layout
Should we have the article like this:
- Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt)
- Dot Branning (June Brown)
- Pat Evans (Pam St. Clement)
- Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden)
- Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor)
- Lucy Beale (Melissa Suffield)
- Peter Beale (Thomas Law)
- Ben Mitchell (Charlie Jones)
- Jim Branning (John Bardon)
Or like this:
Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 16:15, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think we should do it like this:

Stella and May
What's the status on these two characcters? In my opinion, I see these two characters as being the opposite of what they are now. It seems that May is just going to be the resident doctor like Dr. Leroy and not a mainstay like Dr. Trueman or Dr. Cousins, but Stella is going to be featured more in the future when she unloads all her problems on to Phil, perhaps leading up to something. (I am just going on the information first given out by the mags as well as the BBC website) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.52.14.187 (talk • contribs).
- http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/eastenders/characters/character_hub.shtml doesn't have a picture or profile for Stella, which is why I moved her to the recurring characters section. I think we should use this to determine which characters are main characters and which are not. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 19:09, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. Though I do think that Stella is going to be treated just like Rob Minter. He started slowly after a big write-up on the BBC website with no profile, and then after a couple of months on air, he did end up getting his own profile.(and he stayed in characters, btw) So I guess when she starts to figure into stories more, her status will change.
Character order
Shouldn't the characters have some kind of order with the dates of duration? Much like this page: List of characters from Coronation Street? And the Soon to Depart section features characters that aren't due to depart for a long time.
- Well, they are already listed in order of entrance/exit --Assassingod 14:52, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
-
- The duration dates are provided in the articles, and not needed on this page. The characters are ordered in order of entrance. I will change "Soon to depart" to "Departing" - as no-one can determine exactly how long "soon" is... Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 15:35, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
