Talk:List of alleged al-Qaeda members

[edit] Disputed
The way this list is structured is highly misleading. For example, it is technically correct to say that Abdurahman Khadr was an 'alleged al-Qaeda member' and that he is now 'free and at large'.
But the reason for this is that he was detained and released because no evidence of his membership in al-Qaeda could be found.
I don't object to him being listed on the page, but I think there should be a category for people at large who are still suspected, and those who are now free whose are no longer suspected. --Saforrest 14:22, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)
- Part of the problem comes from the lack of updating in the article. I would suggest adding the fact following his name. Rmhermen 14:34, Mar 3, 2005 (UTC)
The disputed tag was added by Frymaster here. Owing to the nature of the subject such a list can probably never be definite or complete, but once any necessary improvements are made the tag can be removed.--Oden 21:50, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

- Suggestion: add a "Found innocent/charges dropped/cleared of charges" section. --Petercorless 06:57, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Haithem al-Yemeni?
See this CNN article. This character isn't listed. Should Haithem al-Yemeni be added or is this another name for someone already listed? --Kenyon 04:29, May 14, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Sulaiman Abu Ghaith
Does anyone know why Sulaiman Abu Ghaith was removed on July 22, 2005 as "not an al-qaida member"? Surely he is, or at least allegedly is? Nardman1 05:39, 18 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Do these people exist?
I have removed the following red linked entries on the grounds that I can't find any independent reference to them. All were added by anonymous users. The first is undoubtedly a prank, but the other two should be restored if there's an actual mention of them somewhere.

Man, you dont change "Abu Talha" to "Talha, Abu". Arabic names dont function as english. --Striver 18:31, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Added link to MIPT Knowledgebase=
Surprised there wasn't a link there before. --Petercorless 07:13, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] AQAP
Quite a few of the Saudi names are taken care of in the piece al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula. KSA has mowed down dozens of them. The life expectancy of an AQ member in KSA, from the time he joins the outfit, is about two years.
