The Chicago, Madison and Northern Railroad and the Chicago, Madison and Northern Railway were two different railroad companies that have operated in Wisconsin. The former (CM&N Railroad) was incorporated on August 2, 1886, and was purcgased by the Illinois Central in 1889. The latter (CM&N Railway) was chartered on February 6, 1976, and operated until 1982. [edit] Chicago Great Western?

I think the CGW came as close as the western bank of the Mississippi to Wisconsin without ever actually going across. Should this get taken out of here?Gws57 22:51, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Well, if it never actually entered the state, then yes it should be removed from this list. Looking at a couple references in my library, I don't see anything to say that CGW did enter Wisconsin so it should be safe to remove. Slambo (Speak) 01:45, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
Yep, looks like the closest it came was Red Wing and Winona, Minnesota. Done and done! Gws57 02:31, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
