What about Chairmen Council of State, titular Heads of State of People's Republic of Poland (1952-1989) This is list of chairmen:
- Aleksander Zawadzki (1952-1960)
- Edward Ochab (1964-1968)
- Marian Spychalski (1968-1970)
- Józef Cyrankiewicz (1970-1972)
- Henryk Jabłoński (1972-1986)
- Wojciech Jaruzelski (1985-1989) (became President)
Józef Piłsudski was Head of State (Polish: Naczelnik Państwa) from November 1918 until December 1922. He was elected by Sejm. He was not formal President, but President and Head of State of the Republic de facto
Hello form Poland!

The Communist protectorate even if was using the name "Republic of Poland" stressed, that the state is "ludowy", i.e. Communist. There was no continuation. Xx236 06:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
