People repeatedly add and remove the additional county seats of Bristol, and I've heard arguments both ways. Which is it?

[edit] Shire Town

Additionally, where is Shire Town actually used? I live in Lowell, Northern Middlesex, and I have never heard this term used. It seems to be more prevelant on the South Shore and the note should reflect that, I think. Any ideas?
