[edit] Sunny Leone + Angela Devi

Information has been requested concerning the inclusion of Sunny Leone and Angela Devi into the list. The criteria most in question for Sunny Leone is that of her citizenship, and for Angela Devi it is her impact on American society. Here is some evidence uncovered from a mediation case, which now seems to be able to go no further as little progress will be made without more evidence.

So, once again, we need evidence that proves Sunny Leone is a citizen of the United States (her role as the Playboy Penthouse of the year, in my opinion at least, shows recognition in the United States). As for Angela Devi, we need evidence that she has had an impact on American Society. Cowman109Talk 18:46, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Random bits of evidence for them fitting the criteria:

"Both of them have been been mentioned on [1]"

"Asia Times Online also has some articles about Angela Devi, and Sunny Leoni. Both of these sites are popular sources for the South Asian region."

An interview with Sunny Leone here Sunny Leone claims "I am getting my citizenship to America this year. I will have dual Canadian/ American..."

Sunny Leone was also Penthouse Pet of the year. From the wiki page of the preceding link: "Sunny Leone Pet of the Month March 2001 - Pet of the Year for 2003"

The Times of India: A link in which Angela Devi and Sunny Leone are mentioned.

I would suggest that until it can be proven these two people fit the criteria they should remain on the talk page for the addition of evidence. Cowman109Talk 19:43, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

It seems as thought Sunny Leone may be an US citizen. According to a weblog post she posted, "Thanks everyone. My family went to Canada before I was born and applied for US Citizenship before I was born. It has taken my family 25years to become citizens. Its a great honor and I never thought I would be so happy about it till I was saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Definitely brought a tear to the eye. Thanks for all your kind thoughts. MUAH!!" The link is at http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=622363. The blog also states that she became an US citizen on 6-16-2006 -131.216.2.83 18:50, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sunny Leone

I have found a interview that has Sunny Leone state that she gained US citizenship in June 2006. I am in favor of including Sunny Leone to be included in the list of Indian-Americans. The link is found at http://sunnyleone.thumblogger.com/, ande the interview states:

Sunny Leone: My parents came from India about 25 years ago. They applied for American citizenship before I was born. We got our green cards when I was about 15 so it was over 15 years just to start the process. For them, it was something they decided they wanted to do a long time ago. At that age I really didn't have a choice of where we were going to live. I am not sure what everyone else's story is but I came down here because my parents made me.

Big D: Do you consider yourself to be more of a Canadian or an American or Indian because both your parents are from there?

Sunny Leone: Actually, I just became an American citizen in June 2006. It's kind of hard to say because both Canada and here are both very Americanized cultures. It's not like there is a huge difference as far as our cultural backgrounds or the way things are there. There are a few things they have like different food but for the most part I am American or Canadian as the next person. It just so happens that that is where I was born.

[edit] Shashi Tharoor

Is Shashi Tharoor an Indian American? What country does he presently reside in or hold citizenship in? I wanted to start some British Asian/malayali categories, which I though he was, but I just came across this page with him listed under indian american politicians. Please anyone verify if they know, I might go ahead and just include him anyway in the british category--Kathanar 22:13, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
