[edit] Jacob Jost deletion / revert

The inclusion of Jacob Jost as a Marshall Scholar satisfies Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion according to the definition governing Wikipedia:Deletion of vanity articles. While a Marshall Scholarship is prestigous, it does not alone qualify for Wikipedia:Notability (people). --Jdfawcett 04:50, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

After reading up, it seems that the Marshall Scholarship is actually quite notable! Reverted to previous edit. --Jdfawcett 16:06, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] David Reimer link

While initially pleased to see that an article for Mr. Reimer exists, I was horrifically disappointed to see that the name links to a transgendered Canadian who committed suicide. So I fixed it (pun intended). DivusFilius 03:23, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] John D. Roth link

Does anyone know why his page was deleted? Hopefully not for reason of vanity. He's one of the world's foremost Mennonite academics. DivusFilius 17:50, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

The deletion log doesn't say. I've asked the deleting admin to come here and clarify. JonHarder talk 02:44, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
It was deleted for being an article on a non-notable professor. I guess I skipped over the summary. Luigi30 (Taλk) 12:59, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Generally an admin will be willing to restore an article like this if provided with sources indicating that the criteria of WP:PROF can be established. Study the proposed guideline, come up with the required references and then ask Luigi30 to reconsider. JonHarder talk 22:50, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice, Jon. My schedule will clear up some in about 2 weeks and I'll try to get on it then. DivusFilius 03:15, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
I think example one of WP:PROF might be a good starting point since Roth has authored or co-authored several general interest books.[1] JonHarder talk 13:43, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
