[edit] Individual episode pages

A start has been made on developing individual episode pages. If you want to create one, follow one of the red links. For style and formatting, see a blue-linked episode. Gwinva 12:34, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Forgot to say, the episode numbering system most commonly used for Foyle's War (on DVD covers, ITV programming, fan sites etc) ignores seasons and numbers then 1-16. Have followed this style on the info boxes. Therefore, is it confusing to identify season? Should the word be removed? And, does anyone know how we can put the setting (ie date) into the infobox to have chronology at a quick glance? Gwinva 12:39, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
The series are referred to by number (series 3, series 5 or commonly FW3, FW5 etc) and each episode (or film) by number/title, eg, series 3, Enemy Fire. I've not seen common reference to the films by numbers 1 to 16. Might be an Acorn thing. Any reference to 'season' should be removed in favour of 'series'. Florrie 14:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Right. I was mainly going by my DVDs (some of which are Dutch) and the List of Foyle's War episodes which numbers them 1-16. Doesn't bother me how we list them, as long as we're consistent. I agree that 'Series' is better than 'season' which is American, but the infobox templates are set up that way. I think the 1-16 numbering is probably an international thing, as the programmes haven't been broadcast in series grouping as the original ITV series. (eg, Australia running Series 4 and 5 together. Totally agree on consistency. Regardless of the ABC (and NZ) screening both series together they are technically separate series and referred to in that way in publicity in the UK (press packs, picture desks, production etc.) I don't know why they were labelled 1-16 here in wiki, unless someone was copying from a dvd cover? It's the only place I've ever seen it. Florrie 15:21, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay, all of the episode pages from Series 1-5 are done, they just need expanding.. Also, I created a british tv infobox that uses 'Series' instead of 'season'.. Illyria05 (Talk  Contributions) 22:31, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
Many thanks for reverting the transmissions to those of the original UK dates. I'd already received a bunch of emails from some very confused people re FW5! Florrie 01:29, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
Hey, no problem, also, do you know when 5x02 (Series 5, episode 2) is to air in the UK? February 18 or 25th? Illyria05 (Talk  Contributions) 17:46, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
At this stage, ITV is still planning to hold Casualties of War until April, when it was originally going to air both FW5 films. Bleak Midwinter was only pulled forward as a hole plugger because of other programming issues. Of course, given that it has happened once, there's nothing to stop ITV using BM in the same fashion and it could pop up at anytime with minimal notice! So, at the moment, 'TBA' is about the best you can use. Florrie 03:46, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Series 6

Illyria/Gwinva, you can change the 'TBA' for FW6 episodes to '3' - unless there is a drastic change. Scheduling is supposed to be for late 2007 transmission, but the way ITV is going, the dvd release could be be 2009. Florrie 01:03, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, I saw some rumours of 3 episodes, does anyone know if Tony Horowitz talked about it on his blog? Illyria05 (Talk  Contributions) 17:48, 19 February 2007 (UTC) Also, I will change it a moment..
Anthony Horowitz? No idea. He rarely discusses FW nowadays, it's all about the Alex Rider books. Three epsiodes for FW6 isn't a rumour, it was confirmed by Greenlit last year. Florrie 23:25, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Oh, I apologize, I did not know it was official.. Anyway, I am signing off of wikipedia for "tonight" (here), so good night :) Illyria05 (Talk  Contributions) 05:53, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
