This page has a zillion systems. There really are a zillion systems; everyone from the Philippines who can swing a stick makes up their own system. But I think a lot of these are just some student in their first month who doesn't know a sumbrada is just a kind of exercise, not a fighting system. On the other hand, some of the systems have stunningly unoriginal names. And how do you check that something's not a system somebody is teaching somewhere? Hence the long boring list of unlinked systems. The linked ones either have some real content, are referred to from somewhere else than here, or were links when I found them. Blech. Re-added Kombatan. It is Ernesto Presas' style. He is a recongized master, member of whfsc. Their main site is not online. However you can find the site of many individual masters of the style 09:10, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
NOTE: San Miguel Eskrima, headed by Master Ramón Rubia is part of the Doce Pares multistyle system, more than a separate style, and master Ramón is indeed an authorized Doce Pares instructor (listed in http://www.doceparesinternational.com). I suggest to merge the two definitions.
- In all honesty, I have no clue about Eskrima: I just stumbled across Sikaran and Kali Sikaran while adding working through articles that need sections. I do know, however, that they are pretty much orphan articles, and unless they aren't notable (in which case they should be deleted), they should be added back to this page. 66.229.160.94 06:59, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Clean-up
I got rid of all entries that did not have their own article and made one list. If the style is important it will be added back in with an article. The list was just too messy and full of entries with no or little information - or any case for notability. Think your style is important - write an article. Wiki policy discourages list of names.Peter Rehse 09:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
