[edit] Added Characters

I just added Etna, Gordon and Jennifer. Add information to the attacks and do a Bio for them if you want. - A Link to the Past

[edit] Improvements

I'm wondering, should we delete the stats and moves? I'm thinking 'delete the stats', but not sure about moves. -- A Link to the Past 22:20, July 10, 2005 (UTC)

I'm thinking, delete it all and add more characters. And I'm going to do just that. --Oppolo 16:07, 3 September 2005 (UTC)

  • Actually, on second thoughts, I'm going to leave it as it is now- I feel guilty deleting it all when someone spent all that time setting up the tables. I do think it should be done though, in theory. --Oppolo 16:10, 3 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wrong Weapon

Gordon uses a gun not a axe. Just pointing it out.

[edit] Spoilers

There are a lot of spoilers under here, with no spoiler warning. Some are fairly huge plot giveaways, for example: "As she ascends with Death to the heavens, her spirit is seen to take the form of a human woman whom Laharl recognizes.." I mean, come on. It doesn't take a genius to see what that means. So I say we should either add a spoiler warning, or remove the spoilers.Gregorz 14:12, 30 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] We need pictures of these characters...

The casual reader probably doesn't really know what they look like except if they search on google... Abby724 03:26, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

We also need a picture of Baal. I'm not sure which one Baal is, but since the article mentioned La Puccele Tactics, is it the giant obnoxious tree? Aurora sword 13:32, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Big Sis Prinny *spoilers*

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

After replaying the game, the fact that she is his mother is blatant. Some examples.

Laharl: Hmph... You sound just like that Love Freak...
Laharl: ......
Laharl: ...It's what's best for their sake?
Big Sis Prinny: That's right, dood.
Laharl: ...I see. Then, I'll let them go.
Big Sis Prinny: You understand, dood?
Laharl: ...Well, yeah.

Showing BSP's influence on Laharl.

Flonne: Wait!
Flonne: What sin... What sin did you commit?
Big Sis Prinny: ......
Big Sis Prinny: I took my own life.
Big Sis Prinny: Taking your own life is a grave sin...
Flonne: Why would you...?
Big Sis Prinny: ...To save my son's life.
Laharl: ------------!!
Big Sis Prinny: Because of my death, my son shut away his feelings...
Big Sis Prinny: But, he's changing ever so slowly.
Big Sis Prinny: It's all thanks to the wonderful people around him...
Big Sis Prinny: My work here is done... The rest is up to my son.
Flonne: You're just going to leave!?
Flonne: Not even a goodbye!? ...Despite how much you love him!?
Big Sis Prinny: ...What cruel words you speak.
Flonne: Eh...?
Big Sis Prinny: Of course I would like to reveal myself. Of course I would like to hug my son with my own hands.
Big Sis Prinny: But if we are destined to part again, then wouldn't it better to watch from afar and leave without saying a single word?
Big Sis Prinny: He has suffered enough already... My silence is how I show my love.
Flonne: ......
Flonne: ...I'm sorry.
Flonne: I tried to push my idea of love onto you without considering your reasons...
Flonne: Without considering your feelings... I'm sorry...
Big Sis Prinny: Haha... Prince, you've met a wonderful person, dood.
Big Sis Prinny: Prince... take care.
Big Sis Prinny: Flonne, Etna... Take care of him for me.

Laharl's mother gave her life to save her son. The reaction of Laharl's shows that the developers intended people to think of BSP as Laharl's mother.

Are we to believe that it is a coincidence that Big Sis Prinny killed herself to save her son's life, while Laharl's mother did the same? That her son shut away his feelings, while Laharl shut away his feelings as well? And as you can see, she says her work is done, the rest is up to her son. Done here? There's only one son in "here". It makes so sense to refer to a son and say the rest is up to him if he's not a character in his game. And while she was leaving, Flonne asks why she won't say goodbye despite how much she loves him. There is only one person who is both a male and a son, and that is Laharl. Not only that, but why would BSP refer to a nonexistant character and then switch to the Prince? Many lines in the script clearly refer to Laharl. Hell, want more? The mysterious figure that associates with the Seraph (who turns out to be King Krichevskoy, who you know as Vyers, The Dark Adonis and Mid-Boss) says...

Voice: ......
Seraph: Are you worried?
Voice: ...Yes. It would be a lie to say I was not.
Voice: But, I shall leave it to the one who loves him most...

Who is the one who loves him the most? A random female Prinny? The only sensible conclusion is that she is his mother. Believing otherwise is just being pedantic, saying that even though her not being his mother would mean that the translators cannot write for crap, she is not his mother because of the fact that she doesn't flat out say "I am your mother, Laharl". - A Link to the Past (talk) 22:56, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

That is true, but this article is spoiler free. Saying that she is his mother is like revealing that Mid Boss is Krichevskoy. What I am planning to do though is create an article where it has all Nippon Ichi characters with all their spoiler information.

This article cannot be spoiler-free, if it is, then nowhere on Wikipedia are the characters' histories divulged. Besides, she isn't big enough of a character that it would uproot the plot - it's a plot of a single episode, so it's really no more of a spoiler than "Hoggmeiser joins you". - A Link to the Past (talk) 20:30, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Then perhaps this article should be deleted. I was thinking of putting up an entire spoiler section for Nippon Ichi characters

...No, it shouldn't. All character articles have spoilers. - A Link to the Past (talk) 03:38, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

... You're arguing on the wrong point, man. Obvious it may be, but still speculation, still a heavy side of spoiler, just too close to the border on too many grounds. Mekryd 02:42, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Anyone who believes that BSP being his mother = speculation has to be the most pedantic person on Wikipedia. We are not speculating that the unbelievably obvious statements in the game show that she is Laharl's mother, we are stating it. - A Link to the Past (talk) 03:27, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Once again, only focusing on one point, and getting rather angry about it, at that. I should rephrase: Spoiler. Speculation. Too close to either, and not a pivotal piece of information to the article's quality. Much of that large block of text is precisely the reasoning of speculation (though admittedly with more evidence), but there's as much, if not more, solid evidence for that as there is for Vyer's fatherhood of Laharl. And without rock hard proof, stating that one thing shows another is, by very definition, speculation, still leaving the topic of spoilers. Perhaps if you weren't quite as personal with this, you'd have more room to speak, but so far, I and one other person have both, independantly, and subjectively said no. Mekryd 23:44, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't believe it would count as speculation as a picture of his mother was shown in one of the forms of media, and she took on that form as a spirit. Nemu 23:48, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Information on the weapons of characters in Bleach based on their appearance in various games has been turned down before, and those count as other media. Though, that is a good point. Thank you. =3Mekryd 23:54, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
The Bleach games are made by different companies that have little to nothing to do with Kubo Tite or the anime studio. The anime and manga(not 100% sure about the manga) are made much closer(or possibly directly under) to Nippon Ichi. Nemu 23:58, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
Then it stays. Thankye. The anime's a bit divergent, but that's enough to satisfy the speculation argument. With only small spoilers, it's okay by me. Mekryd 00:19, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
It was going to stay with or without a statement that she was his mother. The quotes in the game leave only one possible person for BSP to be. Do you dispute that it's speculation to say that the only person who could be his mother is his mother? - A Link to the Past (talk) 00:52, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
If I am guilty of being pedantic, you are of being spiteful. It would have, except for the outside evidence mentioned beforehand, been quite possible that BSP was simply a similar case who sympathized with Laharl's situation. Any number of things could have made as much sense. Either way, it is done. Drop it. Mekryd 00:58, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm guilty of making a point. Sympathized? I didn't realizing having sympathy for someone makes her the one that loves Laharl the most. And why would Laharl be shocked when he sees her turn into a human form? And why would Flonne be mortified that she wasn't going to say goodbye? The fact that she doesn't outright say that she's his mother is covered by the fact that all signs point to her being his mother - Hell, all signs say she HAS to be his mother. - A Link to the Past (talk) 01:23, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Which is, not letting things go, holding a grudge, there's so many ways of phrasing it. And once, AGAIN, you are not addressing the original point that I made. It didn't matter if all the signs 'must' (so you say) point to something. Without an outside source, or an outright statement, it is still speculation. Unless you phrased it to imply this 'fact' or mention that it was implied, it would still be, in all technicality and correctness, incorrect and out of place in an article of this nature. Now, if you've finished repeating your points after the dust has settled, I'm done repeating mine. Mekryd 01:43, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
It IS stated. All this information is in the Disgaea Character Collection, an official book from Nippon Ichi that states most of the information here before all the other stuff was added. In the Big Sis Prinny section, it clearly states that she is Laharl's Mom. Also, all the concept art done by Takehito Harada labels a woman who looks exactly like BSP's soul as Laharl's Mom. So many other sources label her as Laharl's Mom. Flonne even says at the end that it was a sad story between a mother and a son. This is no speculation. This is a spoilerific fact! I still say this article needs to be deleted. Instead, a new article with spoiler info on all SRPG NIS characters should be made.
Yes, we've been over this. When someone else mentioned outside information from the game, I gave it that it was not speculation in that light anymore. Will no one actually read what I post? I said that, in terms of speculation, it was fine by me. As for doing that... You'd have one crazy-huge article if you tried to do a spoiler article on ALL NIS game characters. Mekryd 00:36, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I would only have the major characters from La Pucelle to Disgaea 2. I don't think it would be that big. If minor supporting characters will be included, there will be a separate section on the article for them and their profiles won't be an in-depth. Believe me, I don't want to write a 500 paragraph analysis of Aramis.

No. Just no. In the long amount of time I've been on Wikipedia, I have NEVER seen an article devoted to spoilers. Put a spoiler marker up at the top indicating that there are spoilers in the article and be done with it, keeping the spoilers and everything else intact.

[edit] Flonne

Isn't her name Rosalin? or is this the jap name? Cause people in 4chan have been calling her that name. Aurora sword 13:00, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Err... Wrong game. Rosalin is the female protagonist of Disgaea 2. This is a list for the first game, and they're really nothing alike. Mekryd 04:13, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
