I'm guessing that Tzar Nicholas II of Russia and Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna don't really qualify as mummies; is there a better article for this information? If there were some DYS markers it might fit in List of genetic results derived from historical figures, but it feels quite out of place here. Ziggurat 02:01, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

- I disagree. The other article is for genetic results that are derived from someone by testing their descendants. This article is for actual remains that are tested. According to the article Mummy, "A mummy is a corpse whose skin and dried flesh have been preserved by either intentional or accidental exposure to chemicals, extreme cold or dryness, or airlessness." I think Nicholas and Alexandra fit this definition. If not, we can rename this article to "List of DNA tested mummies and corpses". - Well, there's nothing in that definition that fits bodies buried under railway tracks, and there's nothing in the title or introduction of the other article that implies it is specifically for results tested from descendants. All the tests here are for real mummies, Egyptian or naturally preserved, and all of the tests in the other article refer to historical figures (hence the title), so it seems like a much better idea to put it there.Ziggurat 04:45, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Egyptian mtDNA
